From the native Calabrian vine Gaglioppo comes this intense, dry and full-bodied wine. Jacca Ventu 2012 was awarded the first prize by the international jury and the second by the national jury at the Radici del Sud 2013 competition for the “gaglioppo” category.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red wine with orange reflections. The sense of smell recalls plum and currant; spicy notes, tobacco. Powerful on the palate with well expressed tannic notes and in perfect balance with the acidity of the wine, full-bodied, long and powerful.

Ideal with red meat dishes in general, game, lamb chops and aged cheeses.

Grape variety: Gaglioppo; Altitude: 60 meters above sea level; harvest time: second decade of October; Vinification: long fermentation in red with must-skin contact and in controlled temperatures. Barrel aging: 24 months;

Refinement in bottle: 6 months; Alcohol content: 13.50% by vol.
