• La Pizzuta extra virgin olive oil, among the best Evo in Italy!

    The extra virgin olive oil from the La Pizzuta farm of Stongoli (Kr) was ranked 2nd in the 15th edition of the “Aipo D’Argento” 2018, the international oil award organized by the Inter-regional Olive Producers Association of Verona (Aipo) in collaboration with Edizioni L’Informatore Agrario.

    It is a recognition among the most prestigious in the category that has compared 558 samples of Italian and foreign extra virgin olive oil (Evoo).

    The extra virgin olive oil of Azienda Agricola La Pizzuta obtained a second place in the intense fruity category of 100% Italian extra virgin olive oils and was the only oil produced in Calabria to have obtained this recognition.

    The extra virgin olive oil of Azienda Agricola La Pizzuta, with an intense green fruity aroma, full-bodied taste and strong flavor, is a certified quality oil with traceability obtained from the Carolea, Tonda di Strongoli and Leccino olives varieties. , Nocellara Messinese, Frantoiana, Ascolana, and exclusively from the trees of the farm. The extraction takes place cold within 12 hours of collection.

  • Molarella and Calastrazza awarded at the International Competition in Lyon

    Our winery has brought home two important awards in the 2018 edition of the prestigious “Concours International de Lyon”.

    These are two silver medals respectively for Molarella and Calastrazza, both PGI Val di Neto vintage 2017.

    Molarella, born from the 100% Pecorello native vine, is a white with hints of antique gold. The nose releases elegant hints of Mediterranean vegetation ranging between notes of yellow flowers, the broom on all, ripe fruit and mineral notes to close. In the mouth has a balanced structure, definitely saline and fresh, which inundates us with pleasant persistence.

    Calastrazza, rosé with 100% Magliocco grapes. Calastrazza is an IGP of Neto Rosato, it is a salmon pink vno typical expression of the vine. The olfactory profile is characterized by simple and fragrant aromas of raspberry and cherry, which respond to a perfect fresh / savory balance.

    As every year, the appointment with Vinitaly is absolutely inevitable in Verona, which will be held from Sunday 15 April to Wednesday 18 April 2018 in the Fair area. Considered the world’s largest and most famous international exhibition dedicated to wines and spirits, it is an unmissable event for all specialized operators and connoisseurs.

    For the occasion we will present our fine wines, from Molarella to Jacca Ventu up to Calastrazza and Anno Quinto, and the latest news from our winery: Salinella, a sincere sparkling wine with citrus and slightly fruity scents that will amaze you.

    The most prestigious international wine fair
    With its more than 5000 exhibitors, Vinitaly allows you to have an exceptional view on the production of wines in Italy and in the world. In addition to tastings and workshops, different event areas are planned, where every day sommeliers, journalists and producers will present their best productions to the general public.



    Our cellar has landed in Germany. The Pizzuta del Principe, in fact, participated in the “Prowein 2018”, the most important trade fair in the sector held every year in Dusseldorf (Germany) from 18 to 20 March and which brings together about 58,000 producers from 130 countries.

    At the Prowein 2018 fair, we brought our best labels: from the white Molarella, to the rosé Calastrazza, up to the reds with our superior Jacca Ventu, much appreciated.

    But the real news was our sparkling sparkling wine “Salinella”, the last label created by our winery, which we wanted to present in preview during this fair.

    For us it was a great success!


  • From February 26th to March 14th we will be at the Anteprima Fiere Vino of Gambero Rosso

    Gambero Rosso proposes the Wine Fair Preview as the main Wine Tasting Tour to discover the best wineries and labels that will participate in the two biggest International Wine Fairs.   • Tasting our wines in Rome

    Albino Bianchi and his wife, Clara Ranieri, together with a teacher from the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier, will guide Roman enthusiasts and tasters along a mini vertical of the two most representative labels.

    The appointment is for Monday May 15 at Hotel Rome Cavalieri – Via A. Cadlolo, 101 for a tasting evening.

    Here are the two bottles of our cellar at the center of the tasting: Molarella, a sheep in purity, an absolute interpreter of the salty shades evoked by the particular micro-climate where its fruits are born and growing; Jacca Ventu  born from the native Calabrian Gaglioppo grape variety, an intense, dry, full bodied wine.
